2018 Travel Goals

I love to travel.  I love everything about it.  The only time I am an excited morning person is when I’m waking up to board a flight.  I even love the airport and going through security and airport food.

My husband works in travel and every year we try and plan one big trip for us to go on.  In 2017 we went on an amazing Euro-Trip with a couple of our closest friends to Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague and Munich.  This year, however, our travel is spread out into smaller trips rather than one big adventure.  Here’s my travel plan for 2018!

1. NYC – March 30 to April 2

My first trip of the year is to New York City with one of my closest friends.  The main purpose of the trip is to see Harry Potter & The Cursed Child on Broadway, but while we’re there we’ll also be on the hunt for a good comedy show and seeing another Harry Potter play, Puffs The Play.  Brunching, shopping and bottomless mimosas are also on the list.  I’m still trying to figure out if my new idols, the 2 Dope Queens, will be recording a show while we’re there!  We’ve both been to NYC before and done all the touristy stuff, so this time is all about indulging in the good stuff.

2. Kentucky – Fall

Like most of my friends, I’m turning 30 this year and to celebrate the occasion a few of us have been tossing around the idea of going to Kentucky and doing some distillery tours.  We’re thinking of going in the fall, maybe around Canadian Thanksgiving, as the drive down will be beautiful with all the changing trees.  We haven’t ironed out the details yet, but hitting up the Louisville Slugger Museum is definitely on the to-do list.

3. Myrtle Beach – Summer

Myrtle-Beach

My husband’s family has been going to Myrtle Beach almost every year for the past few decades.  I went with them once in 2016 and it was a great time.  We went mini putting, ate giant burgers, shot at a gun range (I won), swam in the ocean, went to the aquarium, and ate our weight in oysters, shrimp and clams.  We might head back around the end of the summer this year, but we haven’t finalized plans yet.

4. Orlando – Spring

This trip is a pretty big maybe right now, but I hope we can go!  My husband might be attending a conference at Disney World in May and I’m trying to tag along.  While he’s learning for work, I’m hoping to spend my time gallivanting around the Disney and Universal theme parks.  I was last in Orlando in 2014, visiting my dear friend Cassie @ Let’s Get Galactic, and I’ve been itching to go back.

Well that pretty sums up where I’m hopefully headed in 2018!  Stay tuned for the NYC recap post in early April!

Thanks!
